Georgia Ray - Lesotho 2017

Making a difference in Africa

As a 6th Form student at Anglo European School, Ingatestone, I have volunteered to visit Lesotho in July 2017 to help the rural community. We will be building gardens, planting trees to provide food and help prevent soil erosion, and delivering "electricity free" slow cookers to help reduce smoke inhalation, wood utilisation and water usage.
Please help support this exciting experience by sponsoring a tree (£5-10) or Wonderbag (£20), or by simply making whatever donation you can - see below for more

These thermal cooking bags mean the women no longer spend hours collecting firewood, then ages stirring the pot. Once the pot is boiling, it comes off the fire, goes into the insulated bag, and like a slow cooker it carries on cooking.

We will also build self-contained raised gardens to allow elderly and infirm people to tend to their own low maintenance vegetable plots, allowing them to grow their own food.

Thanks SO SO much for your support, Georgia

With so much wood burnt for cooking & heating, Lesotho has a major soil erosion problem. Feel free to add some words in the comments, as these will be taken to Lesotho and put on the wall for the local people to see.
